SAMBA, June 28: A wrestling competition under the name and style of Jai Baba Shivo Kesari Dangal was held at Goran.
On the occasion, SSP Samba Joginder Singh was the chief guest, while Chairman, Team Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal was the guest of honour.
In this competition, so many renowned wrestlers from J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan took part.
About 45 bouts were held. Wrestler Nisar of Doda defeated Lallian of Punjab and clinched Rs 18,000 cash prize, Benia Min of J&K Police lost to Sukh of Punjab and won Rs 25,000 cash prize. The bout between Pamma of Punjab and Abdul Ghani of Rajasthan of Rs 41,000 cash prize remains undecided.
Trophies were also delivered to best three wrestlers.
While speaking, Chairman, Team Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that these types of competitions change the mind of young generation and keep them away from drugs.
SSP samba in his address said that these types of events rejuvenate rich cultural values and also refrains young blood from taking drugs which is now a bigger social menace. He also announced that a multi speciality game center for Goran village will be established soon and also agreed to send proposal for a gymnasium under the Civic Action Program.
Among others present were Rahul Sambyal, Des Raj Sharma, Anupam Sambyal, Surinder Singh, Satish Dutta, Surjeet Singh, Ganesh Dutt Sharma, Satpaul Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Kishor Sharma, Romal Singh, Ashwani Sharma, etc.
