Jagjivan Lal seeks immediate relief for flash flood sufferers

JAMMU, Sept 9: Former Minister and National Conference (NC) candidate for Reasi Assembly Constituency sought immediate release of ex-gratia for the kin of those killed during the devastating floods and landslides vis-à-vis restoration of works in Reasi and Udhampur districts.
During tour of district Reasi, Jagjivan Lal interacted with the sufferers and took stock of the damages caused to private property, utility services besides infrastructure.
Jagjivan Lal urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to pass on necessary instructions to the administration for carrying out survey and assessment of damages.
He also visited Dera Baba Bandha, Kundra, Block Poni, Gankorsar, Khend, Loran, Panjer, Kallah, Syallah and Mali and expressed concern over large scale damage caused in these areas. He said the bridge at Loran has been washed away and the condition of roads has worsened leading to obstacles in movement of vehicular traffic.
He stressed for immediate relief to those who have suffered massive damages.
