JAMMU, Feb 5: The State Government today appointed retired IPS officer Jagjit Kumar as Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC).
Jagjit Kumar had retired as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in September last year after holding several important assignments during his illustrious career.
He had played important role in anti-militancy operations during his posting in the Police Department and served on important posts right from SP to IGP.
An official order issued today by the General Administration Department (GAD) said, the Governor has appointed Jagjit Kumar, IPS (Retired) as Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 129 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
