PATIALA, Nov 24:
The Patiala police today took drug peddler Jagdish Singh Bhola into custody till November 26 in connection with a case registered at the Urban Estate police station in April this year.
Bhola was brought here from Fatehgarh Sahib on transit remand on Saturday night by the Patiala police and produced before magistrate Jagbir Singh’s court today.
The magistrate sent Bhola, facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act to police custody till November 26.
Bhola was arrested along with his four associates from a roadside eatery in Sonipat district of Haryana by a Punjab police team on November 11.
Police unearthed a multi-crore synthetic drug racket in the state with the arrests.
Bhola, an Arjuna awardee wrestler, was dismissed from Punjab Police when he was DSP in 2004. (PTI)
