JAMMU, Aug 28: In a nukkad series launched today by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and languages at Rani Park, M Jackson Cultural Institute of Society, Jammu presented a nukkad titled ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.
The actors of the Jackson Cultural Institute while depicting various scenes designed with very dramatically aesthetic sense show how in the Indian society female child are considered as social and economic burden to their parents.
The nukkad play shows how many parents in India kill the girl children in the womb whereas no one understands its negative aspect in the future. The play further reveals that the female sex ratio in comparison to the male has been reduced to the great extent (8 males per female) in India and if the situation will remain same there will be great unbalance among the ratio of human where as this practice is not done in the animals, so humans must learn from the animals to save the humanity.
The artists who performed in the play were JR Sharma Jackson, Basant Vijogi, Poonam Sharma,
Anjana Padwal, Aksra Sudan, Aakanksha Sudan and Danshika Jamwal.
Tomorrow a nukkad play shall be performed by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu.
