JAMMU, Apr 29: In a meeting held today here at Brahman Sabha under the chairmanship of Sabha president, Ved Prakash Sharma, Joint Action Committee (General Category) today expressed grave concern and displeasure against 13 MLAs of State Assembly, who pleaded before Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for restoring reservation in promotions.
The meeting said that this move of these MLAs proves that they have no faith in judicial system, as the reservation in promotion rules have been struck down by the State High Court, which has also directed to maintain ‘status quo’ of the said order.
“Joint Action Committee (JAC) believes that these MLAs have tried to muzzle the voice of General category people by acting in partisan manner”, the meeting said and warned the political parties to refrain from appeasement policies towards reserved categories at the cost of compromising the merit and seniority of General category people.
JAC called upon the general category people to hold peaceful protests outside the residences of these MLAs as well as district headquarters of both BJP and Congress to register their protest.
