J-K budget session to begin from March 18

JAMMU:
The maiden 23-day-long budget session of the Mufti Sayeed government in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will begin from March 18 and budget would be presented on March 22.
Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today issued provisional calendar for the sittings of the first session of the 12th Legislative Assembly here today.
This is maiden session of the Mufti Sayeed-led BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the provisional calendar issued by Pro-tem Speaker, Mohmmad Shafi, Session will be starting from March 18, with the Governor’s address to Legislature and the House sittings would continue till April 9.
“Discussion on motion of thanks on the Governor’s address and reply thereto will be held on March 19 and March 20,” Secretary, Legislative Assembly, M Ramzan said.
The annual statement of expenditure for the year 2015-2016 and presentation of supplementary statement of expenditure for the year 2014-2015 (budget) will be on March 22, general discussion on budget will be held on March 23 and 24, he said.
Accordingly, the demands for grants for various departments would be presented from March 25 to March 29 and the Appropriation Bills and Private Members Bills will be taken up on March 30 and March 31.
Similarly, Private Members Resolutions will be taken up on April 1, while Government Business, Private Member’s Bills, Private Members Resolutions and Government Business, if any will be taken up on April 6, 7, 8 and 9 respectively. (AGENCIES)
