SRINAGAR, June 20: The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) employees today urged the State Government to convene meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) and expedite the process of pending promotions in the Technical Education Department.
In a statement, Nazir Ahmad Molvi, President ITI Employees United Front said that demand to convene meeting of DPC was made during a meeting held here under the chairmanship of President, Jammu and Kashmir National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF), Mohammad Gafoor Dar.
Nazir said that time bound promotion cases of the department should be disposed off early and at the same time regularization orders should be issued with respect to adhoc, contractual and academic instructors. He said that an eight member state level coordination committee of ITI employees has been formed so that the demands of ITI employees are projected in right manner. He added that the union would be affiliated with JKNTUF.
Nazir endorsed the four day strike call given by Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and asked the employees of ITIs and polytechnics to follow the protest programme of JCC in letter and spirit.
