JAMMU, Jan 21: A delegation of the J&K ITI Employees United Front, headed by its J&K (UT) president) and National vice president, Nazir Ahmed Moulvi, along with Naresh Sharma (Vice president), Karan Singh (secretary), and other members, attended a meeting convened by Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister, J&K at the Civil Secretariat, here today.
The delegation held a detailed discussion on several genuine demands and suggestions requiring immediate attention. The key demands and suggestions discussed included— finalization of recruitment rules, uniform designation and change of nomenclature of vocational instructors and group instructors posts; re-organization of the Skill Development Department; establishment of a mechanism to balance the demand and supply of skilled manpower; regularization of all contractual, consolidated, and academic vocational instructors who have completed ten years of service, release of pending salaries of staff engaged under the VTIP Scheme and enhancement of salaries for guest faculty and IMC staff; construction of workshop block at Govt; ITI Jammu; . placement of heads of institutions and Assistant Directors, as these positions have been vacant for a long time.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the delegation that all their demands would be addressed on the priority basis. The matter was also later taken up with the Administrative Secretary of the Skill Development Department.
