JAMMU, Mar 24: An ITBP jawan was killed today in a road mishap occurred in Muthi area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a Swift car bearing registration number JK11B-9578 was on its way from Rajouri to Jammu when on reaching Muthi on Jammu-Akhnoor Road, the car plunged into a gorge while averting collision with another vehicle.
“In the mishap, driver of the car namely Dinesh Kumar (an ITBP jawan) son of Reshav Ram, resident of Bagnoti (Nowshera, Rajouri) received serious injuries while another person travelling in the car got minor injuries,” the official said, adding they were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Jammu, where Dinesh succumbed to his injuries later.
The official said that a case FIR number 91/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in this connection at police station Domana and further investigation started while the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem.
