Defeat evil designs of ‘Gupkar Gang’: Anurag

JAMMU, Nov 18: Maintaining that district Development Council (DDC) elections in J&K is a fight between Tiranga (tricolor) lovers versus those who love Pakistan and China, BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K, Tarun Chug asked his party men to take these elections seriously and ensure the victory of its candidates in both the regions of the UT.
“It is a fight between the nationalist people and those who love China and Pakistan, so party men have to take these elections very seriously as they are no less important for us than Parliament and Assembly poll”, Chug said while addressing series of meetings of party leaders and activists soon after his arrival here, today.

Chug, along with Union MoS for Finance, Anurag Thakur who has recently been appointed as Prabhari for DDC elections for J&K and Seh Prabhari (co incharge) of the party for the UT, Ashish Sood took the detailed report and feed back during his hectic schedule today about the election preparedness in various districts of Jammu region. He also discussed booth management and other issues in detail with party men.
He urged the party men to work hard to win these elections and not to give any chance to opponents. Besides, he asked them to ensure that no party man files the form as a rival candidate in any part of UT.
The national general secretary of party said the BJP is contesting this election on the issue of nationalism and the good work done by the Narendra Modi Government in the country as well as J&K. “It is an opportunity to the people to teach a lesson to those who support China or seek support from China for restoration of Articles 370 and 35 -A. This is the high time for the people of J&K to teach a lesson to all such forces”, he added.
He said the feedback received by him during his two days tour of UT he found the people in J&K are satisfied with the performance of Narendra Modi Government and they praised his policies and programmes a lot. “I am hopeful that the people of the UT will frustrate the designs of Gupkar Gang who have no agenda but only want to seek power by hook or crook”, he added.
Chug said the ‘Gupkar Gang’ is united at top leaders’ level but there are simmering differences on ground level among their workers as they don’t see eye to eye with each other. “Though the leadership poses to be united at top level but there are fissures at ground level among their workers and I hardly believe they will unite at ground level”, he added.
While endorsing the statement of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Gupkar Gang, he said the HM has given a clear message across the country that present Government at no level will allow the revival of terrorism in J&K. “We have to ask people whether they are going to allow them (Gupkar Gang) to implement their agenda which is totally against the national interests ”he added.
Lambasting Congress, he accused it of playing duel politics and asked its leaders do they support Tiranga or Gupkar Gang, vice chairperson, Mehbooba Mufti who refused to take up Tiranga in hand?
During the meeting the senior party leaders including ex -ministers and MPs were appointed election incharge of each district for poll management and campaigning. They were asked to remain in their respective districts till elections are over.
The senior BJP leaders from Delhi held series of meetings with senior leaders, district presidents, Morcha heads and Prabharis and discussed the poll strategy with them besides, sought their feed back on preparedness and election management.
Chug asked the senior leaders of party from J&K to acquire a monitoring role in these elections and plan every thing with keen interest in these elections.
Union MoS Finance and incharge J&K elections, Anurag Thakur said “ Our predecessors have stood firm against all anti nationals since decades and now we have to defeat the evil designs of Gupkar Gang with girt”. He also said while making India a stronger nation , PM Modi has transformed life of needy with revolutionary steps and stressed on highlighting these things.
Thakur, while talking to reporters earlier said BJP is the largest party in the world and after coming to power in 2014 with absolute majority, it improved its tally in 2019 Lok Sabha elections on the basis of its performance and fulfilling of poll promises made in 2014 elections. “We won the trust of people as we fulfilled all promises which we made during elections with them”, he added.
He said “With abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A we gave rights to J&K people especially women of the UT , Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes and West Pak refugees who were deprived of the same”.
Party Seh Prabhari for J&K, Ashish Sood said any activity in this part of India is keenly and closely observed by everybody in every corner of the nation as the elections of J&K hold importance in the country.
BJP J&K president, Ravinder Raina said that party has already entered into election mood and there is no time for the party activists to take the rest till election is over.
He said party men have to ensure the victory of only patriots who hold the Tiranga in high esteem.
The senior BJP leaders including MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Speaker, Dr Nirmal Singh, former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, national secretary, Dr Narinder Singh, former Minister, Sat Sharma, BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Kaul, vice presidents, Pawan Khajuria and Yudhvir Sethi, general secretaries, Sunil Sharma and Dr D K Manyal and others were present.
