JAMMU, July 20: Income Tax Department today organized awareness camp at holy town of Katra to make the people aware about their legal obligation of filing Income Tax returns as per their exact income.
Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Sham Lal Kesar, President Hotel Association, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, KVK Singh, his team and other dignitaries of the Katra attended the awareness camp.
Sangeeta Gupta, in her address, pointed out that there is huge gap between the PAN holders and actual income tax payers. She also pointed out that the purpose of holding such camp is to widen the tax base and requested the assessees to come forward and contribute for the welfare of nation so that Government is able to take up the development work.
