JAMMU, Jan 3: It is most unfortunate that the Congress and its allies are misleading the people of a particulate faith on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by their lies but these parties will not succeed in their nefarious designs as the nation has seen their opportunist and emotional polities in the past.
This was stated by J&K BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while addressing media persons at Akhnoor along with district president Jagdish Raj Bhagat and district Seh-Prabhari, Prem Gupta. He said that the ongoing protests in the country are nothing but handiwork of Congress and its allies, who are trying to terrorize Muslims of the country on the name of CAA by presenting a false picture about this Act.
Balbir said that the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, which was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and received assent of the President, got overwhelming applause and appreciation from the people but the Congress and its allies with communal mindset, unleashed a false, baseless, misinformation campaign to mislead the members of a particular faith pursuing dirty vote bank politics.
“It would have been better had Congress and others gone through the actual contents of the Act and educated the people about benefits it would be going to shower on minorities”, Balbir said and added that CAA will provide relief to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who have been leading miserable lives and feeling insecure there and have entered India on or before December 31, 2014, which should also clear doubts that there will be rush of people wishing to obtain Indian Citizenship.
Such an approach of Congress towards CAA also clears that the party is against the welfare and well being of poor and Dalit community since maximum beneficiaries of this Act belong to these sections. Balbir appealed the people not to get misled by false and fabricated statements and contribute in defeating designs of such parties, which are provoking people on a non issue.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders including party vice president, Girdhari Lal Raina, senior leader and former MLC, Surinder Ambardar, former district president, Chand Bhat, president district, T N Bhat, while addressing a press conference in Jammu said, “We underline the failure of the Liaquat-Nehru Pact of 1950, along with leaders and political parties such as Congress and CPI(M) cutting across the ideological spectrum, who at one or the other time demanded grant of citizenship to religious minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh but failed to deliver in concrete terms’’.
