JAMMU, Sept 7: In the case of issuance of bogus ration cards in Kathua and punishment to TSO for the crime, the State Vigilance Commission has now sought personal appearance of Joint Director (Admn), Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu to report regarding recovery of cost of extra ration and lodging of Police complaint in this regard.
In this case, the complaint was lodged by one Sanjeev Gupta, Sarpanch Chhan Rorian, Kathua in December 2014, who alleged that the then Assistant Director and TSO Kathua shifted two ration Depots from original location without any authorization and also issued bogus ration cards.
The State Vigilance Commission taking notice of the complaint, directed on spot enquiry through Deputy Commissioner Kathua, who in his report confirmed issuance of 177 number of bogus and duplicate ration cards. On directions of the Commission, the Deputy Director (Supplies) established charges of misuse of office against TSO for unauthorized shifting of two Ration Depots and supply of extra rations, thereby causing loss to Government exchequer. In furtherance of enquiry held, the TSO was inflicted with one year’s stoppage of annual pay increment on May 6, 2016 and AD (Kathua) directed to recover extra cost of rations.
The Commission has now sought personal appearance of Joint Director (Adm.) Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Jammu on October 10, 2016 to report regarding recovery of cost of extra rations, lodging of Police complaint and issuance of 177 bogus & duplicate ration cards.
