Rajouri, Feb 13: Minister of State for Health (Independent Charge), Shabir Ahmad has said that the Government has decided to set up Indian System treatment Centers in all Community Health Centers and new type Primary Health Centers to further promote Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM) in the State.
He said in this regard a proposal for creation of 1050 posts, including ISM medicos, para-medicos is under consideration of the State Government, adding that another proposal has also been moved to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for funding under NRHM for engaging ISM staff in new type Primary Health Centers in the State.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating newly constructed ISM Hospital building at border village Doongi, the Minister said that highly ISM treatment have already been introduced in all District Hospitals besides Primary Health Centers to provide alternate choice of treatment to the people of the State.
The Health Minister said that construction work on ISM Hospital building has been completed at a cost of Rs. 72.22 lakh, adding that work on such hospital buildings in border villages Pollulian and Dokeare is also apace at a cumulative cost of Rs. 1.45 crore. He said these buildings would also be completed in all respects within next two months.
The Health Minister said that that health has been flagged as priority sector and concerted efforts are under way to open health centers in hilly areas of Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Bandipora and Kupwara districts.
The Minister said that pro-people policies initiated by the Government during last 4 years have transformed the development profile of border and hilly areas, adding that focused attention was given to improve basic amenities.
Later, the Minister inaugurated ex-service men rally cum outreach campaign camp at Thanamandi. The two day camp has been organized by Army, where free treatment and medicines would be provided to the ex-servicemen and people of the area.
GOC Remoe Force, Deputy Inspector General, Police, Rajouri Poonch districts, Director ISM and other civil, police and Army officers were present.
