Irresponsible attitude in execution of works will not be tolerated: Wani

JAMMU, Apr 3: Minister for Works, Abdul Majid Wani during his extensive visit of various peripheries of Jammu district today took stock of several development works under execution in these areas.
The Minister accompanied by Chief Engineer, R&B, Jammu Tahseen Mustafa, Superintendent Engineer, P. L. Bushan and Executive Engineer, Dinesh Ram Paul inspected a link road connecting Chowadi with Ratnuchak Kotli and directed for preparation of DPR for costruction of the link which would shorten the existing distance of 10 km to 1.25 km thus facilitiating the people particularly the students of Central University coming up in Vijaypur, Samba district.
Responding to other demands of the area which included construction of three bridges on the link road, the Minister said that the matter is being examined and work on one bridge would be taken up shortly.
Regarding the project of widening of road, Mr Wani said that the project will facilitate not only residential areas but also people connected with industries.
Expressing concern over the lenient approach of some contractors in execution of work, Mr Wani warned of disciplinary action against them and said that such irresponsible attitude will not be tolerated at any cost.
Chief Engineer informed the Minister that construction work on 21 bridges has been completed in Jammu province and possibilities are being explored for taking up many more development projects for facilitating people with road connectivity.
