JAMMU, July 31: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) today died in mysterious circumstances at his Battalion in Channi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the officer identified as ASI Suram Singh (52) son of Balwant Singh, a resident of Purkhoo, presently posted at IRP 4th Battalion at Channi, suddenly started vomiting in the wee hours of today in his battalion.
As his condition started deteriorating, his colleagues rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
After conducting post mortem the body of the deceased officer was handed over to IRP authorities.
In this connection, a case under 174 CrPC has been registered at police station Channi and further investigations started.
