UDHAMPUR, Sept 29: In a joint initiative, the IRP 24th Battalion and District Youth Services & Sports Department Udhampur inaugurated a multi-disciplinary sports conclave at Mini Stadium, here today under the Civil Action Programme (CAP) of J&K Police. The event features competitions in badminton, volleyball and cricket, aimed at promoting discipline, teamwork, and steering youth away from drug abuse.
SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure, the chief guest, emphasized the transformative power of sports in youth development. He was received ceremoniously by Commandant IRP 24th Battalion Mohd. Aslam, who underscored the role of sports in building resilience and providing platforms for emerging talent.
Dignitaries present included officials from Police, Information, Health, Sports, Social Forestry and civil society members, who collectively praised the initiative. A plantation drive was also conducted as part of the event. The tournament will continue in the coming days, drawing active community participation and reinforcing CAP’s commitment to a healthier, drug-free society.
