KATHUA, Sept 22: IRP 19th Battalion Kathua organized Amrit Kalash- Meri Maati Mera Desh programme at GHSS Sumwan of district Kathua in which large number of students, teachers and lecturers participated.
During the programme, tribute were paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Commandant IRP-19th Battalion, Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma admistered the Panch Pran oath to the school staff, students, villagers and families of martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Koshal Sharma said that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign has been envisaged not only as a tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation but also to instill the values of patriotism and service towards the nation and nation-building.
During the campaign soil was collected in Kalash which would be later deposited to Block Development Office for further transportation to Delhi.
The family members of martyrs, prominent citizens, School staff and police officers attended the event. They included Rajinder Singh-SP (Dy Commandant), Dinesh Kumar Mansotra-Principal GHSS Sumwan, Deepak Tufchi-Dy SP; Updesh Kumar-Dy SP; Daljit Singh-Dy SP, Inspr Gulzar Ahmad, Inspr.. Abhisheak Sharma, Khazan Chand- Chairman BDC, Yogesh Kumar Kundal -Sarpanch Sumwan, Puran Chand Verma- Naib Sarpanch Mahi Chak and others.
