JAMMU, June 13: The irate residents of New Plots held a protest demonstration at Tali Morh and disrupted the movement of vehicular traffic on Ambphalla-Bantalab road today in protest against the power failure in the area.
The protestors including a sizable number of women shouted slogans against the PDD authorities.
They alleged that the local transformer developed a snag few days back and since then the people of the area are without electricity.
The irate residents warned to continue dharna on the road and were unwilling to lift the same till issue was settled and transformer installed in the area.
Later the SHO, Janipur Narinder Singh visited the area and he took up the issue with higher authorities on whose assurance he informed the people that the transformer will be installed by this evening.
On this assurance the agitating people dispersed.
