SAMBA, July 3: The irate residents of Vijaypur today staged a protest in the town and took out a procession to Power Station in the area and forcibly snapped power supply to entire area for one hour from 11-15am to 12-15 pm.
The protestors including women and youth shouting slogans against the PDD authorities said that they will snap the power supply to entire area till power supply is improved in the town which is facing long duration curtailments.
Later the Executive Engineer, M&RE, A K Sachdeva along with SHO Vijaypur, Iqbal Choudhary visited the Power Station and pursued the protestors to lift the dharna and restore the power supply. On their request the protestors dispersed but warned that in case the power supply in the town did not improve by July 10, they will come to streets again and block the National Highway.
