MENDHAR, July 3: Some people held protest demonstration at Shahidi Yadgar here against the action of a police Sub Inspector here today.
The villagers from Gohlad including women of the area assembled at Shahidi Yadgar Chowk in the town in the morning and started protest against the alleged manhandling of a pregnant woman Parveen during raid by some cops last evening at her house. The police had gone to arrest some accused wanted in group clash over a land dispute case. The relatives of the woman, raised allegations against the cops and demanded action against the police office officer and some other cops responsible for misbehavior and alleged manhandling of the woman. They were displaying placards and carrying black flags during protest.
Later, SDPO Mandhar, Amit Bhasin reached the spot and assured the agitating people to hold inquiry into the matter and take action if anybody found guilty. The people then lifted dharna.
