KATHUA, Aug 24: The people of Ward Number eight and nine Kathua and village Madoon in Samba district protested against the power failure in their respective areas.
As per reports the irate people of Ward eight and nine staged a demonstration at foot bridge Kathua against the power failure in the area due to damage of the local transformer.
The protestors raising slogans against the PDD accused it of not paying any attention to restore the transformer in the area which is defunct for last two days. Later the AEE of M&RE Sub Division, Kathua visited the spot and assured protestors that the transformer will be installed by tomorrow. On his assurance they lifted the dharna.
The villagers of Madoon in Samba district held a protest demonstration in front of Tehsil Office at Rajpura against the damage of two transformers over nine days back and failure of the Department to restore them.
The Tehsildar assured them that the problem will be solved at an earliest.
