Irate people block Dhaar road, protest against absence of doctors

KATHUA, Aug 26: The irate people of Makwal and adjoining areas blocked the Dhaar road for three hours today in protest against the non availability of doctors at Billawar Sub District Hospital and Ramkote Hospital where an accident victim was taken for postmortem by them.
The protestors said that a youth died of road accident in the area yesterday and he was first taken to Ramkote Hospital for the postmortem but the same was not conducted there due to non availability of doctors.
Later the victim was shifted to SDH Billawar in the morning but no doctor was also available up to noon there also and the postmortem of the victim was delayed who was killed after his bike hit the barrier installed by the Traffic Police at a naka in the area yesterday.
However, the road blockade was later lifted on the assurance of the officers of Revenue and police.
