JAMMU, May 3: State unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) organized a function in connection with the Raising Day of INTUC at PCC headquarters, Shahidi Chowk here today.
The Raising Day function was held under the leadership of INTUC State chief Shiv Kumar Sharma while vice chairman OBC Board, Kuldeep Raj Verma was the chief guest. Several other INTUC office bearers and Congress activists attended the function. On this occasion, rich tributes were paid to the martyrs of Chicago and their sacrifices for the cause of the working class were recalled.
While addressing the gathering the INTUC president, Shiv Kumar projected the demands of the working class/ State employees. He demanded regularization of all the daily rated workers, irrespective of their tenure, implementation of SRO-43 in all the PSUs and pension benefits to Corporation workers, implementation of 6th Pay Commission in all the PSUs and enhancement of gratuity in favour of all the PSU employees, increase in the retirement age, revival of PSUs in crisis, opening of Provident Fund offices in all the districts, enhancement of Medical allowance of the employees and removal of pay anomalies in certain cadre.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Pranav Shagotra (PYC), National Working president Youth INTUC Amrik Singh, Chairman PSU Joginder Pal, Abdul Manan Bhat JKTDC, Rashpal Singh -NHPC, Sham Parsad, Mohd Iqbal, Darshan Singh and Surinder Singh.
