KATHUA, July 11: In its action against drug menace within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today recovered 120 number of intoxicating capsules and 20 litres of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Kathua Police Station (PS). Two persons were also arrested in this connection.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Vijay Kumar SHO PS, Kathua during naka checking duty at Bhag Thalli Naka noticed a suspect namely Rinku Kumar son of Ramesh Chand of Ward No. 10 Kathua. During checking 120 Intoxicating capsules marked as SPM -PRX were recovered from his illegal possession. He was arrested and the intoxicating capsules were seized by the police party on spot. A case FIR No. 334/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station, Kathua and further investigation is under process.
While in another instance police team of PS Kathua during patrolling/naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed one more suspect namely Neena, wife of Vickey Kumar of Kandyar Palli Morh, tehsil and district Kathua. On checking 20 litres of illicit liquor were recovered from her illegal possession. Meanwhile lady was arrested and all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized. A case vide FIR No. 335/2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation started.
