International Refining & Petrochemical Conference held

NEW DELHI, July 11: “International Refining and Petrochemical Conference” was held here today.
The conference was inaugurated by Raj Kumar Ghosh, Director (Refineries) IndianOil.
In his key note address, Ghosh said that IndianOil industry has grown substantially from 1999 onwards moving from 65 MMT to 215 MMT every year. Indian refineries have also achieved 100 per cent Capacity Utilisation during the past five years. Still, the increasing crude oil imports will continue to grow import dependency and will be a big drain on India’s exchequer, he added.
Ghosh called for benchmarking and sustained improvement, best utilisation of the available resources and efforts for value addition.
He added that Euro IV was introduced from April 10 in 13 cities which has now been implemented in additional 33 cities. Plans are there to have it implemented in additional 50 cities by 2015.
Earlier welcoming the delegates, John T Royall, President, Hydrocarbon Processing said that the fourth edition of IRPC has been brought to India after Rome, Singapore and Milan to bring together the industry from around the world.
Ghosh also inaugurated IndianOil exhibition which was visited by the petroleum and Petrochemical industry leaders from various countries.
The delegates of the IRPC visited IndianOil’s Paniat Refinery and appreciated the state-of-art facilities created there.
