KARGIL, Oct 16: The International Association for Ladakh Studies is organizing its international conference in Kargil in the year 2015.
This was declared by president of the Association John Bray during a pre-preparatory conference organized by SEMOK Kargil at its office in Changrah Kargil.
The meeting was attended by the general secretary of IALS Sonam Angchok, Chairman KASCO Gulzar Hussain Munshi, Ajaz Hussain Munshi, Khadim Hussain Assistant Director Archives J&K, Kacho Mumtaz Ali, Scholars, president SEMOK Mohammad Hassan and students.
During the conference, the visitors urged the student, literary community and scholars of Kargil to make research and study on their respective interest of study and present their papers in the upcoming conference of IALS in 2015.
John Bray and Sonam Angchok briefed the participants about the objective of IALS and its motive to organize the international conference in Kargil.
Students and the scholars expressed their interest in the field of research and writing papers but they also focused on the need of workshops for further furnish and beautify their papers.
The president IALS assured the students for a workshop on the research methodology and paper presentation in 2014 and in the meantime Sonam Wangchuk also assured that in the recent future, seminars and workshops will be conducted to encourage the youths to write on the culture and tradition of Kargil.
