JAMMU, Feb 12: More than five hundred delegates from different parts of the country as well as across the world are participating in the three-day international conference on ‘Natural Resource Management’ at SKUAST-Jammu from February 18.
After Indian Science Congress, this is the biggest event, which is being organized by the SKUAST Jammu and the Indian Ecological Society in collaboration with Centres for International Projects Trust (CIPT), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The various themes to be covered in the conference are; Land and Water Resources, Crop Environment Interactions, Integrated Nutrient Management, Integrated Pest Management, Horticulture, Forestry Tree Plantations, Eco-responsive Livestock and Fisheries Production and Policies for Sustainable Development of Agriculture, informed the media committee members. The keynote speakers shall be Padma Shri Chewang Norphel Ice Man of Ladakh, J&K, Dr. G.S. Goraya, Deputy Director General (Research), ICFRE, Dehra Dun, Dr. N.K. Krishna Kumar, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, Dr. Birgit Wilhelm, Consultant for Sustainable Agriculture and Resource Management World Wide Fund for Nature Germany, Dr Charles Midega, ICIPE Kenya and others.
