Recently Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in PMO office said that BJP would not compromise with Jammu’s interests for power. It is a welcome statement for the Jammuites. Jammuites have suffered a lot in the hands of Kashmir centric politics. Though, the alliance between BJP and PDP was the only option to form the Government but after almost four years of rule of this alliance, it is evident that Jammu again suffered a lot. Even BJP being in alliance with PDP, Kashmir remained the top agenda of the Government.
Right from the day one of the alliance, the Jammuites were whispering against the government for naming it unnatural and opposite tie-up. BJP was losing grip on the voters of Jammu. Had BJP not taken back the support it would have lost in a big way. Now BJP has to plug the loopholes to bring the voters of Jammu into confidence. There is no way out for them as the damage has been already done.
