Castor seed futures fall on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, July 19: Castor seed prices were down by Rs 15 to Rs 4,581 per quintal in futures trade today as investors cut bets largely in tune with the sluggish trend at the physical market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the contracts for delivery in September declined by Rs 15, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 4,581 per quintal with an open interest of 11,600 lots.
Similarly, the delivery of the most-active August contracts eased by Rs 9, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 4,543 per quintal with a business turnover of 1,29,470 open lots.
Marketmen said profit-booking at higher levels by traders, triggered by falling prices in the spot markets, weighed on castor seed prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
