Jammu, Oct 12: The Business School, University of Jammu organised a special interactive session on “Growing Era of Sales and Distribution Channels” for the students of MBA.
The resource person Vinay Verma, Sales Head, Airtel Gujarat Circle, who is an alumnus of The Business School batch 1992-94, interacted with the students. He laid emphasis on Distribution and Sales Management in the modern business environment. He talked about the concept of Matchstick Distribution by quoting examples of automobile, textile, consumer electronics and Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies.
The resource person also emphasized the relevance of sales in the present day corporate world by stating that sales is the backbone of every successful business and irrespective of the functional area, sales is an all pervasive phenomenon.  Besides this, he suggested students to integrate the theoretical framework with the practical dimensions of professional working to understand the entire concept of Distribution.
The students asked several industry related question, which were handled by the resource person. The session was attended by students of first semester, third semesters and faculty members.
