Inter-state thieves arrested with stolen items worth several lakhs

JAMMU, Mar 22: Anti-Vehicle Theft and Recovery (AVTAR) team worked out a burglary case by nabbing two inter-state thieves and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, on March 12, a complainant was lodged by Vicky Manchanda, son of Ram Rattan of Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar with Gandhi Nagar police station stating that some unidentified persons entered into his shop at Apsara road and decamped with items worth several lakhs.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 67/16 under Section 381 RPC was registered and manhunt was launched to arrest the thieves.
On specific input, AVTAR team apprehended two persons, who confessed to commit the theft.
The accused have been identified as Talat Niyaz alias Sonu, son of Nayaz Ahmed of Uttar Pradesh, at present Last Morh Gandhi Nagar and Ashok Kumar, son of Kishan of District Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
On their disclosure, AVTAR team recovered stolen goods worth several lakhs.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
AVTAR team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz Ahmed and assisted by PSI Vicky Thappa made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
