KATHUA, Dec 23: Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education, National Highway, Rajbagh (Ujh), Kathua today organized an inter college seminar on “Skilled India can make PM’s dream a reality” in which Minister for Health and Medical Education and ARI and Trainings Ch. Lal Singh was the chief guest and Ex MLA, Basholi, Kanta Andotra was guest of honor.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the centrality of skills to India’s development and called on Government, private sector and youth to work together to make this vision a reality. Ch. Lal singh also highlighted health Department’s endeavor in improving the skill sets of students enrolled in various courses offered for the purpose.
On this occasion various participants spoke on skill development programmes under taken by the Government and the mission and objectives of the schemes.
“There is need to create a robust work force that caters to the needs of job market. We have institutionalized our support in this regard by proving all the facilities available at our college and providing skill development training under one roof”, Chairman of the college Surinder Kohli said.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanta Andotra emphasized the importance of skill development of youth, mobilizing candidates, launching fresh training programs and felicitating successful trainees.
A cultural programme was also organized by the students and prizes were given to the meritorious speakers.
Akita Sharma of GDC Kathua and Neha Sharma of Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education, Rajbagh secured first position, Vishal Pathania of GDC Kathua and Shikha Mehra of GDC Hirnagar bagged second position while Pallavi Sharma of Surya College of Education, Kathua and Priyanka Devi of GDC, Hiranagar stood third.
