Who says Maoist culture of violence is an ideology and why are attempts made by some to accord an intellectual flavour to these terrorists by calling them as Maoists? Do these intellectuals albeit sympathizers of Maoists deny involvement of forces inimical to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India , going all hog in arming, training and funding these outlaws? Recent Bastar killings in Chatisgarh must stir the conscience of those who have to contain and neutralize such elements of harbingers of death and destruction. Are China’s PLA, ISI and other foreign abetted and motivated terror outfits operating in some areas of the North East, not supplying arms and ammunition of sophisticated nature to the Maoist terrorists? Can the upholders of the “ideology – a big leaf” theory tagged with these terrorists explain to the nation as to where from do these outlaws get weapons like rocket launchers, AK 47, AK 56, landmines, grenades, night vision devices, rocket propelled grenades and other weapons, to wage war against India and thus commit treason? Can the action of any Indian be condoned under any circumstances, which wages war against his or her own country, irrespective of any hardships or problems faced from the side of the government or any of its wings? A report on one of the attacks of Maoists on our security forces in Kakatiya jungles in Latehar district in 2009 martyring 10 soldiers, revealed that belly grenades were sewn into slain soldiers’ bodies which were defused in IIMS Ranchi. These grenades, planted to create maximum collateral damage when the bodies of the martyred soldiers were being airlifted, bore ordnance markings of Pakistan and China. Not only this, their barbarity crossed all limits when the martyred soldiers bore signs of mutilation, post killings and in two cases ,even tongues were chopped off. This is sheer barbarism committed in the land of peace lovers and peace preachers for centuries together. Their sole aim is only to spread terror and lawlessness lest any one from the villages and forests where these fugitives hide, reveal their hideouts and arms dumps to the security forces. Execution of developmental plans and poverty alleviation programmes are an antidote to their “revolution” hence they do not allow those to happen to better the lot of the people, especially from the rural and tribal areas. Looting railway stations and police stations and damaging the infrastructure have the aim to make the people suffer to plant grudge and hatred in their psyche against the duly elected government and the institution of democracy.
Against whom are these criminals recruiting children as soldiers and young women as guerilla fighters? It was these lady soldiers who had encircled the tribal leader Mahindra Karma and indulged in deriving sadistic pleasures while torturing and stabbing him to death. Eye witnesses revealed that the women Maoist terrorists took turns in inflicting 78 bayonet wounds on Karma and watched him bleed to death following which they danced and shouted. The Bastar tiger as he was known by the name, had at least mustered courage when as state Minister in 2005, he had gone all offensive against these criminals playing a leading role in “Salwa Judam”. His killings along with other 26 innocents last week in Chattisgarh has further confirmed the belief that the Maoists are a brute force of outlaws sustaining on extortions, loot, snatchings, killings and misleading the general masses to incite them what they call for a “war of annihilation” of “class enemies”. So the war of annihilation of own people, own police, own countrymen has become the hall mark of their flawed and criminal movement. What is the Government doing?
It must open the eyes of those who feign innocence about their dastardly committed brutal crimes justifying the mayhem for reasons of neglecting the rural and tribal areas and in numerous cases exploitation of the farmers vis-à-vis their land and natural resources that post the recent Bastar attack area , security forces have defused grenades bearing Chinese marks. The China link goes back to the days of mid sixties when two local CPI activists Kanu Sanyal and Charu Mazumdar started what was called as Naxalbari movement following Naxalbari farmers’ uprising in 1967 on account of some excesses committed by the then state government. They broke away from the party to float their own outfit CPI (M) and later CPI(ML). A section of the activists wanted the party to move fast to add “armed revolution” to its agenda so that more people of extremist bent up mind joined the cadre . Both Charu Mazumdar and Kanu Sanyal visited China in 1968 along with 5 hard core activists where they were treated specially and imparted armed training rather full military training for full two and a half months. Peoples’ Daily, the mouth piece of the central committee of the communist party of China wrote extensively about Naxalbari uprising of the peasants with intent to inspire people of Darjeeling area to broaden the “revolutionary scope” of the Naxalbari movement. Hence with the blessings of the PLA of China and lackadaisical approach of the state and central governments, the CPI(ML) started its tentacles to be broad based to aim at twin ideology to get through, that of struggle for land and struggle for political power. One could not go independent of the other as both in their opinion were intertwined. They believe that economic and political agitations (bloody and armed ones) are necessary for class struggle.
The fact that bringing in any type of economic changes and agrarian laws and changing the governments could be possible by the power of ballot is not acceptable to them, instead they want to muzzle, rather throttle all democratic avenues as enshrined in the country’s constitution, to accomplish their designs nursed in their diseased mind set. Their ambition of a corridor right from Pashupati (Nepal) to Terupati in the south to be achieved by means of bloody and violent “revolutionary” struggle is what they are aiming at. Chatisgarh, Bihar, Orrisa, Andhra, UP, West Bengal and other states are affected with this bloody ideology all going against the spirit of Indian nation, its territorial integrity, sovereignty and democracy. The need of the hour is to develop zero tolerance for any move which goes against India, to develop will power, the political determination to firmly take on them. We find both missing. When Dantewada bloody incident was enacted by these Maoist terrorists against our security forces martyring as many as 76 of them in April 2010, Union Minister P. Chidambarm made it known that the cumulative will of the cabinet committee “prevailed” over and above his view in launching an all out offensive against these blood thirsty ideologists . It means the decisive resolution of violence with befitting counter means is seeming still far from reality, perhaps for the vote banks, that is why the incident is slated to go down as another item of statistics, that is why the Union Home Minister is fiddling abroad, read on vacation abroad, that is why problems in India are allowed to take such serious propensities that ad-hoc solutions and patch work treatments go totally unaffected. Why is Government not acting and looking too as acting is what we wonder about.
