JAMMU, Nov 19: Insurance Surveyors of J&K here today under the leadership of Ravi Dhar, Rajesh Gupta and Sudarshan Choudhary staged a protest demonstration against Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA).
The protesters expressed resentment against the proposed policy of IRDA and termed it as an act to snatch their jobs to please the private insurance companies.
They called the policy a planned conspiracy to affect their day-to-day working and also torched the effigy of IRDA.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudarshan Choudhary urged Union Finance Ministry to withdraw the ‘Exposure Draft Regulation 2019’ as soon as possible as it is harmful both for Insurance Policy Holders and Surveyors.
Surveyors Associa-tion has said that there will be serious consequences and their protest will be further intensified if the ‘Exposure Draft Regulation 2019’ is not withdrawn.
The Surveyors present in the protest were Sanjay Tagotra, S.P Bali, Satpal Goel, S.L Gupta, Anil Sambyal, Rajesh Sharma, Alok Mahajan, Kaiher Singh, Satish Sharma, Khushu, Roopak Sohi, Vikas Rasgotra, Satish, R.K Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, S. Charanjeet Singh, G.S Modi, Goutam Gandotra, Manik Vashist and Sanjeev.
