JAMMU, Aug 5: The employees and officers working in LIC of India had suspended their agitational programme demanding early settlement of wage revision and one more option for pension, after the LIC Management had made a written appeal to the unions to suspend the same. The Management had assured to take up the issues seriously and call the unions for negotiations; but even after nearly one month, there has been no response from the Management.
Keeping in view the non seriousness of the Management, massive demonstrations were held outside offices of LIC of India in J&K today.
A demonstration was held outside LIC Office DO Cell Jammu, led by Narinder Sharma, Secretary LIC Class-1 Federation, Com. Pawan Gupta Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division, Rakesh Magotra NFIFWI and Ramesh Kumar of NOINO.

They said, the wage revision of employees has been due August 1, 2012 and this inordinate delay has caused a big resentment among employees, adding that if an early and satisfactory response is not received , the agitation will be intensified, and the Management will be responsible for any serious industrial unrest.
A joint memorandum was submitted to Sr. Divisional Manager, TS.Bali after the demonstration. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were Romesh Chand, Joint Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division, Com. Dinesh Sharma and Ravi Pandita.
