KATRA, Oct 7: To mitigate the financial impact and help employees with insurance coverage as a staff welfare measure, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board under the chairmanship of Lt Governor, JK UT is leaving no stone unturned to cover all its employees under the Group Personal Accident policy to protect them against the medical expenses incurred due to injury or death resulting from an accident during service.
Under the ambit of the provisions of this policy of SMVDSB insured through J&K Bank in association with IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Company Limited, a financial assistance of Rs 30 Lakh has been provided to the family members of the deceased employee Lt Kuldeep Chand who lost his life in the current year while in active service of SMVDSB.
The cheque worth Rs 30 Lakh was handed over to the family of the deceased today by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB at Central Office, Katra, in the presence of Mahesh Sharma, FA/ Chief Accounts Officer, SMVDSB; Rajesh Gupta (Zonal Head, JK Bank); Pavwaan Shaah (State Head, ITGI) and Faheem Fayaz Zargar (SBU Head, ITGI).
Notably, to facilitate employees of SMVDSB, the JK Bank has conferred the “Preferred Customer” status to the Shrine Board for its exclusive dealings with respect to all banking related services. By the virtue of this MoU, “Phone Pe Loan” facility is given to the employees of the Board at concessional rate of interest without any documentation and processing charges with quick turnaround time. It also entitled the employees to avail a multitude of benefits and privileges tailored exclusively for them. J&K Bank has been facilitating SMVDSB in its endeavour to provide digital solutions to various services like donations and yatra registration etc.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO SMVDSB said that there are clear directions of the Chairman (Lt Governor, JKUT) to initiate immediate proactive measures for providing relief to the deceased’s family in the need of hour due to untimely death of the employee.
