JAMMU, Aug 23: High Court today directed the State to initiate process of appointing Director Colleges strictly in terms of Rules of 2008 within two months.
The direction was passed in a petition filed by Anita Sudan, Principal Government Degree College RS Pura seeking quashment of Govt Order No.23-HE of 2013 dated 29-07-2013 whereby Dr TA Kawoosa was illegally/ arbitrarily assigned the responsibilities of Director Colleges ignoring the superior claims of the petitioner.
After hearing Advocate SS Ahmed appearing for the petitioner whereas Deputy AG S Hakim appearing for the State, Justice Virender Singh disposed of the petition with the direction to the Chief Secretary and Secretary Higher Education Department to initiate and conclude the process of appointing Director Colleges strictly in terms of Rules 2008 (as amended up to date) within two months from today.
“In case process of appointing Director Colleges is not concluded within two months, the Government Order No 23-HE of 2013 shall cease to exist”, High Court made it clear.
