Industrial sector worried over non-implementation of GST: AoI

JAMMU, June 30: The Association of Industries (AoI), Gangyal, Jammu expressed its apprehensions about non-implementation of GST and said that industrial sector in the Sate will be facing massive damage if it is not implemented in the State.
In an emergency meeting of the Association held here today, its president Rajesh Jain said that all the industrial activities will be stalled in whole of the State. He said that implementation of GST was must in the J&K State otherwise, the industry will be the major casualty.
The Executive Members while discussing the issue in respect of non-implementation of GST in the State from July Ist, 2017, said that no notification / order about the GST is State and fiscal incentives under GST regime has been issued.
The Members raised serious concerned in respect of non-implementation of GST in J&K State. They said there is a fear and panic among the whole industrial sector. The whole industrial sector will be forced to stop their production resulting in lay off to lakhs of workers as it is not possible to bring in any sort of raw material and other components for processing to make finished products and also not possible to sell their products within the State as well as the outside the State.
This will result in total collapse of industrial activities in the State. Investment of thousands of crores by way of bank loans and financial institutions will be at stake. The members showed their concerns that State Govt seems to be non-serious for the industrial sector which provide job opportunities to lakhs of people. It is the responsibility of the present Govt to implement the GST from decided date for smooth running of industrial sector.
The Association appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and Industries & Commerce Minister Chander Parkash to implement GST in the State with effect from f July Ist, 2017 otherwise industrialist will have no option to close down their units and come to streets along with lakhs of workers.
AoI members, Vijay Sharma, Sanjeev Vig, Rattan Dogra, RP Sethi, Bipin Sharma, Virendra Jain, Sanjay Chopra, Pankaj Jain, Sanjeev Jain and Abhinandan Singh Sachdev were also present.
