Indo-Pak troops exchange fire in Gurez

Srinagar, Sept 16: Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, targeting forward locations at Bagtore area.
Pakistani troops initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in Bagtore sector of Gurez, by resorting to unprovoked firing of mortars and other weapons at around 11:30 am today.
An official said that Army gave strong and befitting response to the ceasefire violation while the further details were being ascertained.
The heavy shelling continued for several hours. However, there was no immediate report of any causality on either side
Army yesterday recovered arms and ammunition during a counter-infiltration operation in Budhab sector of Gurez.
