JAMMU, Feb 20: Indian Oil teams working at various locations in Assam won laurels at the World CSR Congress and Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Awards held in Mumbai recently.
Assam Oil School of Nursing-a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of Indian Oil located in Digboi, Assam won the prestigious award for Women’s Empowerment for providing professional nursing training to unemployed girls.
Established in 1986, the school has helped train and place nearly 350 girls in reputed hospitals in India and abroad.
The awards for Concern for Health went to Bongaigaon Refinery while Guwahati Refinery won in the categories of Community Development and Improvement in Quality of Education.
The awards were presented by Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General and CEO of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Yogesh Dhingra, MD and COO of Blue Dart Express and Kewal Handa, Managing Director, Conexus Social Responsibility Services.
Indian Oil was represented by Anjana Barua Sharma, Guwahati Refinery, Kishore Dutta, Digboi Refinery, Naba Jyoti Das, Bongaigaon Refinery and Vineet Narain, Panipat Refinery.
