JAMMU, Apr 4: Indian Navy today honoured Sandeep Gupta, Director of Doon Defence Academy (DDA) by inviting him as a special guest in the passing out parade of Agniveer batch.
On this occasion, Sandeep Gupta motivated all the sailors, Agniveers and staff with his address.
At the same time, many DDA Diamonds were also present in the passing out parade.
Indian Navy achieved a significant milestone with the passing out of 2966 trainees comprising 402 women Agniveers, 288 SSRs (Medical Assistants) and 227 sailors from INS Chilka, Odisha. The Passing out Parade (POP) marked the culmination of 16 weeks of rigorous initial naval training in a unique post-sunset ceremony.
The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. Commodore B Deepak Anil, Commanding Officer, INS Chilka was the operational officer.
The POP was witnessed by high achieving veterans like Sandeep Gupta (Submariner), Director, Doon Defence Academy, Sureddy Siva Kumar, Ex-SPO, Ex-POELP, Lohri Besi, Ex-POELP, GS Kochar, Ex-EMR-I.
The Chief Guest presented medals and trophies to the meritorious Agniveers on the occasion.
Devraj Singh Rathore, AVR (MR) and Pramod Singh, AVR (SSR) received the Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for the Best Agniveer MR and SSR respectively.
Mohit Kumar, NVK (GD) received the Director General, Indian Coast Guard Rolling Trophy and Director General Gold Medal for the Best NVK (GD).
Earlier during the closing ceremony, FOCinC, Southern Command presented the Overall Championship Trophy.
