Indian engineering exports slide arrested in July, despite pandemic affecting globally : EEPC India

Kolkata, Jan 16: EEPC India Chairman Mahesh Desai has said it was a matter of huge relief that the sharp slide in India’s exports has been arrested in July, 2020, despite pandemic affecting trade and business.globally.
” Even as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to create health and economic disruptions in the world, Engineering exports are amongst a handful of sectors which managed to post a positive trend of 8.6 per cent growth as global demand for essential metals and other related items has started bouncing back.”
However, with resurgence of cases in several parts of the world, it would be difficult to say whether the positive trend, as seen in the engineering exports , can be sustained going forward, he added.
