JAMMU, Oct 6: President Panun Kashmir (PK) Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo today said that there is an overwhelming awakening about the struggle of the Kashmiri Pandits and the issues that disturb the demography of the Jammu region among Indian Diaspora and KPs abroad.
Briefing the media persons about his recent participation the 2nd World Hindu Conference 2018 held in Chicago US last month, Chrungoo said that the KPs as the indigenous people of Kashmir are today on an international agenda as was evident from the proceedings of the 2nd World Hindu Congress proceedings.
He said due to the Amarnath agitation, Homeland struggle, battle for Temples and Shrines Bill and the recent Kathua-Rasana episode, the Jammu and Kashmir issues have been well received by the Indian Diaspora. The West ideological-activist icons like Dr. David Frawley, Frasis Guttire, Ornald Crest and Atmaananda have become the champions of the cause of the Hindu minorities of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
He said the seven State tour in US coupled with the meetings of the Indian Diaspora including the Kashmiri Pandit activists created new vistas for the struggle in exile.
He said a memorandum signed by him as president of PK and Sanjay Kaul, Chairman, Overseas Affairs of PK was submitted to the Secretary General of United Nations Antanio Gutteres highlighting the issues of genocide and ethnic cleansing of the KPs.
It asked the UN that the UNHRC had based its report on the one sided story of the Kashmir situation that was fed to him by the separatist elements. The UN along with the UNHRC and UNHCHR was asked to correct the position regarding the human rights situation in J&K and also in working with the G o I to create conditions so that the perpetrators of the crimes against Kashmiri Hindus supported by Pakistan wind up their terror infrastructure forthwith. The PK urged the UN that a special session on the plight of KPs be organised at UNHRC so that our representatives create awareness about our issues at an appropriate level.
Virender Raina, chairman, Political Affairs Committee PK said that the boycott of ULB elections by the Kashmir Centric political parties has boomeranged and the Government of India deserves kudos that the process of these elections has not been allowed to be hampered.
On behalf of PK he appealed to the people and especially the KP community to strengthen the hands of the beloved leader of the nation PM, Narendra Modi and cast their vote in favour of BJP in the whole State.
