India says ‘top secret nuclear city’ figment of Pak’s imagination

NEW DELHI: India today rubbished Pakistan’s claim that a top secret nuclear city has been built somewhere in Karnataka, where a facility to develop thermonuclear bombs is proposed to be set up.  External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup rejected the Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesman’s statement in this regard as a figment of imagination.

“These are completely baseless allegations. The so-called secret city appears to be a figment of Pakistan’s imagination,” he said in his weekly media briefing, stressing that  India has always been in compliance with all its international obligations.

Pakistani Spokesman Nafees Zakaria, in a media briefing in Islamabad, had claimed that India has built a “secret nuclear city”. He also went to claim that India has sufficient material and the technical capacity to produce between 356 and 492 nuclear bombs. (AGENCIES)
