JAMMU, Jan 10: An outreach programme was organized at SRML, Higher Secondary School, Parade, Jammu, under the leadership of the PCIT, Srinagar Vikram Sahay and under the guidance of the Addl CIT, Rajeev Gubgotra, here today, to spread awareness about wrongful claim of refunds by tax payers and to file ITR-U wherever found necessary.
DDOs present were guided to upload TDS properly in quarterly returns in 24Q form so that employees be saved from unnecessary outstanding demands created.
During the programme, presentations were given by JCIT Dr Ruveda Salam and Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, ITO, Ward-(1), Jammu. The event was attended by 90 DDOs/ Principals/ Headmasters belonging to various areas under the Chief Education officer, Jammu, Jagdeep Padha viz Girls HSS, Akhnoor, HSS Arnia, Keri Rehal, Chowki Choura, Sarore, Mawa Brahmana, Jajjar Kotli, Gundla, Marh Dansal, Jandrah, Kah Pohta, Bahu Fort, Khana Chargal and others.
During the event, CEO Jammu Jagdeep Padha and Principal, SRML, Higher Secondary School, Jammu , Satyan Raina were also present. They appreciated the efforts of Income Tax Deptt for guiding their employees how to file their returns of income and claim various deductions properly.
The employees present raised various queries during the session which were ably solved by the officers of Income Tax Department. DDOs requested the Department to train them by organizing another outreach programme on how to file Quarterly returns in Form 24Q so that they be saved from visiting professionals for the same.
During the open house discussion, the employees were also guided about the consequences of retaining two PANs at a time. Overall, it was a highly successful programme.
