NEW DELHI, May 22: In a move to streamline ITR filing for beginners, the Income Tax Department on Friday posted basic steps to follow on a microblogging site.
It wrote, “Filing your ITR for the first time Don’t worry, it’s simpler than you think.”
Income Tax India listed some basic steps: (i) Gather all income details, (ii) Check for 26AS & AIS, (iii) select the right ITR form, (iv) E-verify, and done.
“Online filing and Excel utilities for ITR-1 & ITR-4 for AY2026-27 are now available on the e-filing portal,” it said, sharing a video on X.
“Start early, file easily, and stay compliant,” the social media post added. (UNI)
