Sir,
The death of 22 year old MBA second year student at Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University reveals the ugly picture of our medicare system.
The absence of quality medical services in far-flung areas of the state clearly reflects that much needs to be done to improve this sector. The services provided at sub-health centres is far from satisfaction. The absence of doctors, medicines and equipments in these centres is a cause of concern. Though the concerned authorities make tall claims that Government has raised the standard, incidents like the one at Bhaderwah campus contradict it.
Not to hapen such incident again, anywhere in the State, the Health Department should ensure that the required paraphernalia is available at all health centres. More than this, the presence of doctors and para-medical staff is a must.
Yours etc….
