JAMMU, Nov 11: An impressive Mehandi procession of Shezada Qasim was taken out on the 6th Muharam today by Shia Sect of Muslims.
The procession started from the residence of late Moulana Mazhar Ali Shah at Lakar Mandi Janipur near here and after passing through Old Janipur and other markets it converted into a religious congregation at Imambada, New Plots.
Thousands of Shia Muslims reciting Mercia in praise of Shezada Qasim participated in the procession. They were wailing and beating the chests enroute.
At Imambada New Plots, the Moulana threw light on the significance of Muharam in Islam and supreme sacrifices of Shazada Qasim and Imam-e-Hussian.
He said Islam teaches peace and brotherhood and it is opposed to violence of any kind. Islam is for coexistence of all religions and this is the reason that people of all religions not only participate in Muharam processions but also present their offerings.
Later in the evening after prayers at Imambada, New plots the procession proceeded towards Imambargah Peer Mitha. It passed via Mohalla Ustad, Purani Mandi, Peer Mitha, Talab Khatikan and Mohalla Dalpatian.
The Ladakh and Kargil students, Unjaman-e-Imammia, Unjuman-e-Hyderi and members of Shia community from Kashmir valley and other parts of Jammu region besides the leaders of Shia Federation Sajjad Hussian and Ashaq Hussian participated in the procession.
However due to the mismanagement of traffic Police and administration, the traffic snarls and chaos were witnessed on Ambphalla, Bantalab road and there were huge queues of vehicles as the authorities in advance had failed to divert the traffic from other routes drawing a public flak.
